Fashion-ology is an inVESTigation of fashion. Just as the meaning and word of Fa-shion has changed throughout history, students have investigated the changing elements of fashion as a way for it to exist in their imagination and their belief in it as tool to express who they are as a hidden language within the clothing design. Subtle details of style such as ruffling on the sleeve, embroidery detail on the pants, or the way your scarf is tied will be interpreted and translated into what we call Fa'-shion Intelligence. While all students will design and make their own clothing to create one complete look our ultimate goal for students is to see beyond just visual clothing and explore the invisible elements such as process, concept, experimentation, self expression, and most of all have FUN!
Fashion Project Open Studio is open for Fall, Winter, Spring 2014-15. This season of Fashion Design Open Studio kids, teens, and adults are getting back to the basics with UNITS. Student will learn about design and sewing through explorations in UNITS.... Original ideas that support creating individual articles of clothing and accessories that are interchangeable and modular in countless ways.
The Ceramics Studio has an EXTENDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITY each month that all of our works in clay are loosely connected to and influenced by. Students achieve new techniques and skills through practice work, demonstrations, lectures, and experimentation. Students are continuously working on new ideas and projects that support designing their own unique "body of work"
The Mixed-Media studio has a BIG IDEA each season that all of our explorations and creating are connected to as a way to build a unique portfolio for each student. In addition to the seasonal themes below we are always on a constant journey with our students to sharpen skills, senses, and aesthetics.
