Advocacy For Arts Day in Jefferson City!
Today was advocacy for arts day, and SBAP attended. A group of artists and administrators from the St.Louis area all drove to Jeff City today on a charter bus organized by the RAC. This was my fist time lobbying for the arts, and will definitely do this again next year! It was very empowering to be able to talk with legislators who will be voting on funding for the arts next week which directly affects non-profits like us to receive operating and program grants. If you want to help support the arts write or email your state rep this week about the importance of art within a community. Did you know that the St Louis Area employs as many people in the arts & art education as a Boeing Plant? That's something to think about.

We just wrapped up a week of mask making at SBAP!
These masks are inspired by Alexandra one of our resident artists, with of course a touch of Mardi Gras flare! These designs are impressive!
